Tasha Tuesday knitting

Hello there on this bright October Tuesday! Hope you've had a good start to your week.
After all the excitement and work of this weekend, I'm ready to settle into a nice steady routine. And the cooling temperatures have me inspired to knit even more things!
Aside from being an amazing artist, Tasha Tudor was also a prolific knitter. Last year I made a Tasha-inspired shawl, and I'd like to make more. Lately I've been getting used to working with double pointed needles and using them to create this funny little gnome hat for Audrey!

I bought this beautiful yarn at the Fiber Christmas festival in Kellyville this summer and knew I'd make a hat for Audrey with it. It's got a beautiful mix of pinks and a little purple in it, and the yarn is varied in thickness so that it has a really interesting look and texture to it. Now that I'm getting used to how double pointed needles work, I might try my hand at mittens! It looks so complicated, doesn't it? But once you understand it, it's really not. Thanks to youtube for teachin' me all about double pointed needles! :)

What sort of craft projects are you up to this lovely October? Does the autumn have you itching to try different projects? I'd love to hear!~
Happy Tasha Tuesday-

  1. I love this beautiful yarn you are using to make that adorable gnome hat for Audrey. It is true that cooler weather begs for new yarn and knitting needles. With another week of hot humid weather on tap, I admit the knitting bug has yet to get this far south!

  2. There is no end to your creativity! Adorable hat! And it looks rather inviting on this rainy day.

  3. Now that it's getting cooler, the urge to knit has hit! :) I am actually knitting up some wristlets to do as a giveaway - and I'll be participating in a knit-a-long for a beautiful cowl from one of my favorite knitwear designers. :)
